A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
